Setting a specific focal length on the CP990

Information kindly supplied by Miles Hellon,  e-mail: mileshellon@hotmail.com

  • Set camera to aperture priority.
  • Set maximum aperture with command dial.
  • Choose a focal length from the right-hand column of the table, and set the zoom to give the corresponding aperture in the left-hand table.
  • Once you've set the zoom you can re-set the aperture or go to a different mode to take your picture etc.

N.B. for this method to work, the menu setting for "zoom/fixed aperture" needs to be set to "off".

The focal length figures are an average of 4 tries.  I'd be interested to hear how well they correspond with other people's CP990s.
